Michelle Hammond Bradsher

Opening reception Tuesday, January 31, 2006 6-8 pm

Exhibition continues through February.

I hesitate to talk too much about my work not because I cannot find the words but because I want the viewer to bring a part of his or her self to the image. I want my paintings, whether landscapes or abstracts, to draw on the collective conscious of humanity. The places should seem vaguely familiar yet also new and exciting. While we have searched for universal truth for centuries, it seems to evade us, always remaining just out of reach. One thing remains constant; nothing remains static and unmoving. Our minds, our environment, everything about the world, are constantly in motion. To be otherwise means death of the spirit. As an artist, I hope to show that life in all forms is the most precious gift.
